Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a cutting-edge effort focused on the design and development of next-generation military aircraft. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of military aviation by leading mechanical design and development activities to achieve optimal performance, safety, and efficiency.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the conceptualization, development, and refinement of advanced aircraft systems and structures. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and manufacturing—to ensure successful execution from early concept through production.
In support of the UJTS program, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve advanced aerospace products and services. These efforts span advanced mission payloads, electronic systems, highly integrated aircraft platforms, and space-related systems. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle through the design, analysis, and testing of complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Support mechanical engineering activities for next-generation aircraft programs
- Contribute to conceptual design, detailed design, and development of aircraft structures and systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support integrated aircraft solutions
- Perform design, analysis, and validation of mechanical components and systems
- Support testing, certification, and production transition activities
- Apply engineering best practices throughout the product lifecycle
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Haves:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Experience using Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools
- Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams
Preferred:
- Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
- Understanding of engineering simulations such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal Analysis
- Background in the Aerospace & Defense industry
- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material and hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Typically 10+ years of relevant experience
