Orlando, FL 32826

Posted: 05/28/2026 Industry: System Engineering Job Number: 1271 Pay Rate: 130,000

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on RF Electrical Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team developing advanced electronic test and measurement solutions for aerospace, defense, and other mission-critical industries.

This role is focused on RF hardware verification, troubleshooting, calibration support, and production readiness. The ideal candidate is an experienced RF engineer who enjoys working in the lab, diagnosing complex board-level RF issues, validating hardware performance, and driving root-cause corrective actions. This is not primarily an RFIC design or systems architecture position; instead, it is an opportunity for a technically strong engineer to become the go-to resource for RF hardware performance and production support.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and test teams to support multiple products transitioning into production. While RF design experience is beneficial, the immediate need is for an engineer with exceptional hands-on troubleshooting skills who can quickly identify, isolate, and resolve RF hardware issues.
Key Responsibilities RF Hardware Verification & Troubleshooting
  • Support RF calibration, characterization, and Production Verification Testing (PVT) activities for complex electronic systems.
  • Investigate and resolve RF performance issues encountered during development, integration, and production.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for RF-related hardware failures and performance anomalies.
  • Analyze RF spectral performance, identify spurious emissions, isolation issues, and signal integrity concerns.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for board-level RF troubleshooting and hardware validation activities.
Laboratory Testing & Debug
  • Conduct hands-on RF testing using:
    • Spectrum Analyzers
    • Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs)
    • RF Signal Generators
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Power Meters and Related Test Equipment
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret RF measurement data.
  • Modify and repair hardware as needed, including soldering, component replacement, and circuit rework.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts from individual PCB assemblies through fully integrated systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and test teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Assist in developing test procedures, troubleshooting methodologies, and validation processes.
  • Provide technical feedback to engineering teams regarding recurring production issues and potential design improvements.
  • Support manufacturing and production teams during product ramp-up activities.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve test processes, calibration procedures, and product reliability.
  • Document troubleshooting activities, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to process improvements that increase manufacturing yield and product quality.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be strongly considered.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting RF hardware at the PCB or subsystem level.
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, signal chains, and RF measurement techniques.
  • Hands-on experience using RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and signal generators.
  • Ability to analyze RF performance issues and identify root causes.
  • Experience supporting hardware validation, integration, manufacturing, or production test activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering and laboratory environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. Person.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting RF calibration and production verification testing (PVT).
  • Hands-on soldering, component replacement, and hardware rework experience.
  • RF PCB design experience.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability products.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC troubleshooting and compliance testing.
  • Experience working with automated test systems or electronic test equipment.
Work Environment
This position is primarily laboratory-based and requires extensive hands-on interaction with RF hardware, test equipment, and prototype systems. The successful candidate should enjoy working directly with hardware and troubleshooting complex technical challenges in a collaborative engineering environment.
Location
This position is onsite. Candidates within commuting distance are preferred; relocation assistance may be available for highly qualified candidates.
