Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to support depot-level repair, overhaul, and sustainment of high-reliability defense electronic systems operating in mission-critical environments. This role focuses on developing, sustaining, and improving repair processes for complex electronic assemblies while driving yield, quality, and throughput in a regulated defense environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on electronics repair experience, strong process discipline, and the ability to implement structured, auditable processes.
Key Responsibilities
The Process Engineer will:
Develop, document, and maintain depot repair processes for complex electronic assemblies, including PCBA, electro-mechanical, cable/harness, and box-level units.
Author and sustain repair documentation, including work instructions, travelers, routings, and process flows.
Provide day-to-day process engineering support to depot repair operations, removing technical blockers and improving execution consistency.
Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to identify failure drivers and implement effective corrective/preventive actions.
Support repair transfer and sustainment efforts, ensuring processes are stable, repeatable, and supportable over time.
Define and maintain requirements for tooling, fixtures, and test equipment needed to execute repairs safely and repeatably.
Track and analyze process performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, reduce rework, and strengthen quality.
Ensure compliance with AS9100, IPC standards, ITAR, ESD, and security requirements across all repair activities and documentation.
Support audits and government oversight, including preparation of evidence, process adherence, and corrective action follow-through.
Train and mentor repair technicians on procedures, workmanship expectations, and process discipline.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related).
3+ years supporting electronics manufacturing or depot-level repair.
Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, J-STD-001.
Experience in AS9100 or ISO-certified environments.
Strong technical documentation and troubleshooting skills.
U.S. Person status (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications
Defense or aerospace depot repair experience.
Failure analysis and conformal coating repair experience.
Lean or Six Sigma experience.
Experience supporting DoD customers.
