Job Description

Structural Technician IV
Location: Hagerstown, MD
Pay Rate: $48.00 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assemble and/or create major assembly structures and perform minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
  • Update job status in operations databases and translate blueprints into fabrication of structural assemblies, including layout, precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools.
  • Align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures.
  • Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
  • Modify incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporate design changes into structures.
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process controls and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance duties and ensure strong communication and coordination between team members, team leads, quality control, and engineering.
  • Adhere to safety, precision, and quality standards in all tasks performed.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Haves:
  • Must own tools in good working order.
  • Ability to interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
  • Ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
  • Advanced experience with structural assembly, minor part-fitting techniques, and repair/refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal.
  • Proficiency in installing various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.

Preferred:
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, or U.S. Military.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (may be required).

Education & Experience
  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Higher-level education may substitute for experience.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
