As the Senior Principal Software Developer for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System, you will shape the future of defense capabilities through cutting-edge software development. Your expertise will drive crucial enhancements in simulation models and tactical-to-model translations, playing a pivotal role in the modernization of defense technology. This role is not just about writing code—it's about making a significant impact on national security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine internal model frameworks for the GMD Weapon System.
  • Convert tactical data to simulation models, supporting application development.
  • Translate and modernize coding languages to enhance software performance and functionality.
  • Collaborate on the verification and validation of models, followed by the preparation of detailed documentation for all developed systems.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Active Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience (maximum 14 years), or a Master’s Degree in a STEM field with at least 8 years of experience (maximum 12 years).
  • Proficiency in C++, GoLang, Cython, Bash, Javascript, SQL, MongoDB.
  • Demonstrated experience in GMD GS/GWS Model Development.
  • Experience developing code in a DevOps environment using tools like Bitbucket or GitHub.
  • Proven background in working within Agile frameworks.
  • Familiarity with both Windows and Unix operating systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Availability to work in-person in a secured environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Ada, MATLAB, Rust.
  • Knowledge in Integrated Risk Management.
  • Involvement in requirements development and collaborative projects.
  • Exposure to Stimulation and Simulation Software.
