Job Description


We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer II to support the continuous improvement of a growing software quality program across front-end, embedded software, and related products and services. In this role, you will help ensure that software products meet rigorous quality standards through structured testing, requirements validation, and compliance with industry and government guidelines.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and experienced in software testing within regulated or government environments. You will work closely with engineering and quality teams to develop test strategies, support release processes, identify defects, and contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the continuous improvement of the software quality assurance program across software products and services
  • Develop, document, and execute software test cases and scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements
  • Perform software testing, record results, and document pass/fail status and defect reports
  • Write clear and detailed bug reports and assist engineering teams in reproducing and resolving issues
  • Assist in defining and translating system and software requirements into testable validation criteria
  • Participate in establishing software quality standards across the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, documentation, and maintenance
  • Support release management activities, including serving as a build coordinator when needed
  • Help establish quantitative metrics and methods for evaluating software quality
  • Review and evaluate software products and services to ensure compliance with government directives, standards, and quality guidelines
  • Analyze test results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to automation and modernization efforts to reduce manual testing and improve efficiency
  • Maintain test environments, labs, and related assets in an organized and operational state
  • Follow established procedures while working under general supervision to solve moderately complex technical issues
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or government software development environments
  • Associate’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience may substitute for required experience
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect tracking, and quality assurance processes
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards and military publications related to quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems, as well as standard Microsoft tools
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python (preferred), Ruby, C, C#, JavaScript, or similar
  • Ability to analyze technical issues and provide solutions to moderately complex problems
  • Ability to work under general supervision while following established technical procedures
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • Familiarity with MIL standards and government software development environments
  • Experience supporting defense, simulation, or government-regulated software programs
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Bourne, Korn, Z shell)
  • Exposure to automation, CI/CD pipelines, or modern software quality practices
