Job Description
We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in PCB design to develop the advanced electronics that power cutting-edge unmanned systems and ground support equipment. This is a highly hands-on engineering role where you'll own the complete PCB development lifecycle—from concept and schematic capture through layout, prototyping, validation, and production.

Location: Onsite – Sanford, FL
Compensation: Approximately $140,000 (commensurate with experience)
Relocation Assistance: Available for exceptional candidates
Work Authorization: Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR (22 C.F.R. §120.62)
Key Responsibilities
- Design complex printed circuit boards from initial concept through production release.
- Develop electronic schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard ECAD tools.
- Own the complete hardware development lifecycle, including schematic capture, layout, component selection, prototyping, design verification, manufacturing support, and production.
- Design high-speed digital circuits incorporating technologies such as USB, Ethernet, DDR memory, microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and other high-performance interfaces.
- Create mixed-signal and power electronics designs supporting advanced embedded systems.
- Optimize PCB layouts for signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability (DFM), and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to bring new hardware designs into production.
- Support prototype builds, hardware validation, troubleshooting, and design improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- 7–10+ years of professional PCB design experience.
- PCB design must represent the primary focus of your engineering career—not an occasional or supporting responsibility.
- Strong experience with PCB design software such as Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD platforms.
- Demonstrated experience designing complex, multi-layer printed circuit boards.
- Experience taking hardware designs from concept through prototype, with production experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and hardware validation.
- Ability to work onsite in Sanford, Florida.
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing high-speed digital PCBs involving:
- USB
- Ethernet
- DDR memory
- Microcontrollers
- Microprocessors
- FPGAs
- Other high-speed digital interfaces
- Experience with mixed-signal PCB layouts and high-density board designs.
- RF and EMI/EMC design experience, including familiarity with MIL-STD-461.
- Background supporting aerospace, defense, unmanned systems (UAS), robotics, or other complex embedded hardware products.
- Experience designing power electronics, motor control circuitry, or power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and production transition activities.
What Makes a Strong Candidate
Successful candidates have built their careers around PCB design. They have extensive experience designing sophisticated, high-performance circuit boards and can discuss the complexity of their designs, including layer count, routing density, mixed-signal architectures, and high-speed interfaces.
Engineers whose recent experience has shifted primarily into software development, systems engineering, simulation, manufacturing support, or test engineering are generally less aligned with this opportunity unless PCB design has remained the core focus of their work.
