Join our dynamic team as a Senior Cyber Range Engineer, where cutting-edge technology meets critical cyber defense initiatives. You will be at the forefront of developing and executing sophisticated cyber range operations, providing unparalleled support to the Joint Cyber Training Enterprise (JCTE). Your expertise will drive the enhancement of cyber defense capabilities, making a significant impact in safeguarding national cyber interests.

As a pivotal member of the JCTE team, you will act as a subject matter expert in cyber range validation and control. Your role will encompass addressing technical requirements, synchronizing platform functions, and delivering solutions in high-pressure situations. Reporting to the Chief Engineer of JCTE, your contributions in cyber range development, systems administration, and cybersecurity will shape the future of cyber training and defense operations.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide technical expertise for large-scale cyber exercises and operations
  • Serve as the principal advisor for cyber range operations, supporting US Cyber Command (USCC)
  • Offer cyber range expertise to facilitate both Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) and Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO)

Required Skills:
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Joint Events Life Cycle (JELC), defensive and offensive cyber tools
  • Expert networking skills, including DNS, routing, and advanced TCP/IP
  • Proficiency in MS, AD, Security Onion, and VMWare
  • Understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Identity Management (IdM) and Single Sign-On (SSO) via LDAP
  • Ability to translate training and rehearsal goals into actionable environments
  • Expertise in cyber range event design and execution
  • Subject matter expertise in architecture, authentication, and system security
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement and on-call responsibilities

Desired Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge in DNS, routing, and Exchange
  • Proficiency in Security Onion or SPLUNK, and VMWare configurations
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and interact effectively with various stakeholders

Required Education/Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience in CNO/CNE/CND platforms
  • 5+ years in cyber training and validation exercises
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Security+, CCNA, CISSP, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field

Other Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • TS SCI security clearance and CI polygraph (as per government contract requirements) Must be able to obtain within the first 90 days if not obtained already.
$145,000 to $215,000
