Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Configuration Management (CM) professional to establish and manage CM processes for a high-priority Department of Defense (DoD) simulation and training project. This role involves close collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the effective management of program deliverables and the smooth execution of DevOps processes.
Location: Orlando, FL (Full-time, on-site)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient configuration management processes, including the evaluation and enhancement of existing procedures.
- Create and maintain the Configuration Management Plan for the program.
- Manage the configuration identification of software and documentation, including assigning unique identifiers and ensuring proper version control.
- Maintain version control using GitLab or similar repository tools for software and documentation.
- Establish and manage a physical CM Library, ensuring controlled access and data reproduction as needed.
- Regulate the change management process, ensuring that only authorized and validated changes are incorporated into program products.
- Track Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) due dates, ensuring timely delivery and configuration control of all document versions.
- Organize and support recurring Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, including the preparation of agendas and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate with customers and subcontractors to integrate external documentation into unified program-controlled documents.
- Perform configuration status accounting and generate ad hoc reports as required.
- Update and track Discrepancy Reports.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and other team meetings with stakeholders.
- Conduct and support audits to verify compliance with baseline requirements.
- Package, duplicate, and deliver release products to multiple fielded sites and government entities.
Required Skills:
- Ability to define, implement, and manage CM processes (e.g., check-out/check-in, build, release).
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Proficiency with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Expertise in using CM tools, including JIRA, GitLab, and other CI/CD tools.
- Advanced knowledge of media duplication tools and software.
- Capability to assess the current environment, identify needs, and propose effective CM solutions.
- Strong initiative and communication skills, with the ability to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in relevant CM roles.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading, establishing, and maintaining consistent product performance and tracking configuration across all phases of training systems development and deployment.
