SYSTEMS ENGINEER III
Job Description
Are you passionate about designing advanced training solutions that directly impact mission readiness? We’re seeking a Systems Engineer III to join a team dedicated to delivering high-fidelity simulation and training systems for military and defense programs. In this role, you’ll drive system architecture and design, ensure customer requirements are met, and mentor junior engineers—all while working with cutting-edge technology that prepares service members for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer requirements into clear, traceable system specifications and solutions.
- Develop and implement advanced real-time software and hardware systems for operator and maintenance training devices.
- Review requirements and create system architectures leveraging expertise in simulation technologies.
- Conduct and brief project status, engineering issues, and technical reviews (SETR/IPR), ensuring action items are documented and resolved.
- Support proposal development, RFP/RFI responses, and technical documentation in collaboration with business teams.
- Perform system integration and testing—both in-house and at customer sites.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare system documentation and deliverables in compliance with contractual requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior systems engineers.
- Handle government-furnished equipment and materials in compliance with safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline with 5+ years of systems engineering experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 7+ years of systems engineering experience, OR
- High school diploma/equivalent and 11+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of simulation hardware and software for training system development.
- Background in fixed-wing aviation systems, either through design, simulation, or operational experience.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance (as required by contract).
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or related field.
- Experience supporting defense training systems or high-fidelity simulation projects involving fixed-wing aircraft.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
