Job Role:
As an SQL Database Administrator, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our database platform. This role encompasses:
- Technical and functional support to US ARMY-wide virtual and hardware SQL databases.
- Installation and maintenance of Database Management software for servers and workstations.
- Creation of database System Interface Diagrams (SIDs) and system efficiency management.
- Backup systems design, development, and implementation.
- Design and maintenance of user accounts, permissions, database tables, and queries.
- Documentation and change management package preparation.
- Provision of direct technical support across various operations.
- Offering management support, up-to-date technological advice, and implementation strategies.
- Analyzing current systems, databases, and operational functions to enhance and automate processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years in Database Development, Administration & Support in MS SQL Server environments.
- Security+ CE, 2 CEs certifications.
- Experience with SQL and Virtual DB environments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.
- Understanding of relational database management system and architecture design.
- Proficiency in creating complex functions, stored procedures, and queries for various applications.
- Expertise in optimizing database performance and understanding indexing, querying, and normalization.
- Skillset in analyzing queries, developing security protocols, and troubleshooting issues.
- Strong data management skills with a keen understanding of database integrity and security.
- Ability to bridge the gap between SQL and Software Development.
Security & Other Requirements:
- Active Security Clearance or the capability to obtain one.
- US citizenship.
- Valid CompTIA + certification.
