Power BI Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote, part-time role requiring 30 hours per week for an anticipated duration of 3 to 6 months. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in Power BI and Microsoft tools to develop, optimize, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that drive decision-making and enhance program performance. This opportunity allows you to work closely with stakeholders and program managers, providing actionable insights and ensuring data integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support program objectives and reporting requirements.
- Integrate Power BI with Microsoft Project and other Microsoft tools to optimize data flow and reporting processes.
- Use XML, SOAP, REST API, and ODATA to facilitate seamless data integration and management across systems.
- Collaborate with program managers and key stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide actionable insights.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reports.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to Power BI and its integration with other Microsoft applications.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members on Power BI best practices and usage.
- Stay informed of the latest Power BI features, updates, and industry trends to improve reporting and data visualization capabilities.
Qualifications
Security Clearance:
- Must hold an active Secret security clearance.
Experience:
- Proven experience in developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in integrating Power BI with Microsoft Project and other Microsoft tools.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data transformation, and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Experience with XML, SOAP, REST API, and ODATA for data integration.
- Familiarity with SQL and other database management tools is a plus.
Additional Skills:
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and provide clear, actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on Army or Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
- Familiarity with additional Microsoft tools such as Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Knowledge of military systems, processes, and protocols.
Education Requirements
- 3 years of experience with a BA/BS degree, OR
- An Associate’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience, OR
- 9 years of relevant experience.
