Business Development Manager

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (Hybrid / Local Presence Preferred)

Role Overview
X-Force is seeking a driven and growth-oriented Business Development Manager to support expansion within the Colorado Springs Gov Con market. This role is focused on identifying new business opportunities, building lasting client relationships, and supporting strategic growth with organizations operating in defense, aerospace, simulation, and related technology sectors.
This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in relationship-driven sales, enjoys engaging with technically sophisticated clients, and is interested in supporting mission-critical programs. While the role offers flexibility, candidates located in or near Colorado Springs are strongly preferred due to the region’s dense concentration of defense, space, and simulation customers.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within defense, simulation, aerospace, and government-adjacent markets.
- Research target organizations, programs, and contracts to uncover staffing and workforce needs.
- Conduct outreach through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and industry events.
- Engage prospective clients to understand workforce challenges and present X-Force’s staffing and consulting solutions.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted partner rather than a transactional vendor.
- Identify opportunities for account expansion, repeat business, and strategic partnerships.
- Stay informed on industry trends, defense programs, and simulation initiatives in the Colorado Springs region.
- Collaborate with internal recruiting and leadership teams to align sales strategy with market demand.
- Contribute to sales planning and execution to meet or exceed growth targets.
- Partner closely with recruiting teams to ensure accurate intake, timely delivery, and strong client satisfaction.
- Track activity, pipeline, and results using CRM tools.
- Provide regular reporting and feedback to leadership on market insights and client needs.
Required Experience & Skills
- 1–2+ years of experience in business development, sales, staffing, or account management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new market opportunities.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in or selling into defense, aerospace, simulation, or government contracting environments.
- Prior experience in staffing, recruiting, or professional services.
- Familiarity with DoD customers, integrators, or simulation and training organizations.
- Understanding of long sales cycles and relationship-based selling common in defense markets.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
- or equivalent professional experience.
