Job Description
Are you ready to take your software engineering skills to the next level? We are looking for a dedicated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of technology, developing critical software for the In-Flight Interceptor Communication Systems (IFICS) Data Terminal (IDT) and the Phased Array IDT suite of products. These systems are vital components of the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapons Systems (GWS) program. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and test software in Ada, C++, and Python within an Agile team environment.
- Design, write, and execute unit tests to ensure software quality.
- Produce comprehensive software documentation.
- Plan, monitor, and conduct testing activities, ensuring rigorous standards.
- Analyze and verify both system level and software level requirements.
- Create and execute automated software test cases within a CI/CD pipeline.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and government customers.
- Contribute to all phases of the Agile process, including planning, feature development, and retrospectives.
- Present developed features during team and program sprint reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.Â
- Proficiency in automated software testing and analysis.
- Experience with software containerization and orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, Jenkins, and CI/CD automation.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- Proficient in Unix/Linux environments and software development using Ada, C++, or Java.
- Understanding of modeling and simulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth experience with DevSecOps tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab).
- Proficient with Agile project management tools (Jira/Confluence).
- Roles as a Product Owner or Scrum Master are a plus.
- Advanced skills in Linux scripting and operations.
- Prior involvement with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs/systems.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Docker, and related technologies.
