Job Description
Logistics Specialist I
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Pay Rate: $23.50/hour
Duties:
As a Logistics Specialist I, you will assist with the preparation of logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals. You’ll support routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, maintaining records of equipment, components, and repair parts, as well as tracking materials and parts for allocation in storage facilities. The role also involves learning and applying state, federal, and international regulations, including import/export requirements.
Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
- Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and stair climbing
- Frequent hand/arm/finger motions and visual acuity (close, distance, color, depth perception)
- Occasional hearing requirements (different tones/volumes)
- Frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional outdoor exposure (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Rare exposure to fumes or hazardous materials
- Occasional loud noise environments
Safety Sensitive Position:
- Handling/transport of hazardous materials
- Inspection of structures, vehicles, and equipment
- Aviation-related duties and operation of heavy equipment
Skills & Qualifications:
Must-have: Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Preferred:
- Exposure to inventory databases
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles
- Experience with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance systems
- HazMat training/certification
- Forklift operation
- Knowledge of shipping databases (FedEx, DHL, UPS)
- Understanding of shelf life and aerospace/defense industry background
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Higher-level degree may substitute for experience
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Additional Requirement:
- This role may require obtaining and maintaining a security clearance.
