Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team. This role involves the assembly, installation, integration, and testing of simulation visual display systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical assembly and experience within the simulation space, with responsibilities that span across multiple domains, including military, aerospace, public safety, marine, and aviation sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Simulation System Assembly and Installation:
- Install and configure dome screens and truss assemblies.
- Mount and configure projectors, ensuring precise alignment and performance.
- Perform cable installation, including Cat5, Fiber, and Copper, and manage cable dressing and marking.
- Handle basic networking tasks such as Layer 2 switch installation/configuration and hardware addressing.
- Configure computers, including imaging and software installation.
- Conduct site acceptance testing and provide system training to end-users.
- Coordinate and lead third-party contractors and assist in creating technical documentation.
Customer Support and Maintenance:
- Manage and resolve customer support tickets efficiently.
- Facilitate repair and maintenance procedures both on-site and remotely.
- Provide system operation training and troubleshooting assistance during training missions.
Production and Quality Assurance:
- Perform inspections of incoming parts from suppliers.
- Assemble, test, pack, and ship products as required.
- Participate in company meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Stay updated with evolving technologies, including software and programs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly and simulation systems.
- Proven technical and mechanical assembly/construction experience.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. overhead and work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
- Ability to pass a background check to obtain security clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid US driver’s license and passport required.
Preferred Candidate Traits/Advantages:
- Experience with simulator visual display systems, including installation and maintenance.
- Background in field/remote work on installation and construction projects.
- Team leadership experience and familiarity with networking/computer systems.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Professional and effective communication skills via phone, email, and mail.
- Prior experience in the simulation industry or with US government/defense programs is a plus.
