Job Description


Are you an experienced Electronic Technician looking for an exciting opportunity to support radar systems in a unique overseas location? We are seeking a skilled Electronic Technician III to join our team at a US Army Base in the Marshall Islands. This role offers the chance to work on critical radar systems that support air traffic control operations, providing essential maintenance and leadership. Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the CNS work center responsible for radar equipment support and maintenance.
  • Repair, overhaul, and modify ground radar systems, including analog-to-digital interfaces like STRAP.
  • Perform system diagnostics, isolating malfunctions through system checks, visual inspections, and electronic testing.
  • Conduct equipment modifications per time compliance technical orders (TCTOs).
  • Assemble, install, and repair antenna systems, transmission lines, and waveguides.
  • Install, repair, and maintain airport electrical systems, including PAPI lights.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PAPI electric control circuits, including relays, contactors, limit switches, and loop detectors.
  • Perform corrosion control and ensure systems are operational and meet prescribed parameters.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and facilities status.
  • Ensure radar and integrated systems pass recertification and periodic flight checks.
  • Operate and lead the use of standard and advanced radar test equipment.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of six or more technicians.


Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Industrial Electronics, completion of a Technical Apprentice Program in Electronics, or equivalent military training.
  • Formal electronics training from a technical school or military radar systems school.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership and maintenance tasks for radar systems.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in electronics repair, maintenance, and testing of ATC surveillance radar systems.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing preventive maintenance on ATC radar systems and related equipment.
  • Certification in Digital Airport Surveillance Radar Systems (DASR) and Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS).


Desired Qualifications:
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with ground radar systems, including automated radar tracking systems.
  • Experience with diagnosing malfunctions through prescribed testing procedures.
  • Experience maintaining and modifying systems per technical orders.
  • Expertise in antenna systems, transmission lines, waveguides, and corrosion control.
  • Familiarity with maintaining and repairing radar display interface equipment in control towers.
  • Experience with GPN-30/27/20, MPN-25, or TPN-19 radar systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience with ATC radar system repair and testing.
