Job Description
As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in steering the electrical engineering team towards achieving both tactical and strategic objectives. This position involves the comprehensive oversight of all electrical engineering activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality electronic equipment or devices in alignment with our rigorous standards. Your responsibilities will encompass the management of project lifecycles, from design through to installation, while fostering an environment of innovation and excellence among your team.
Essential Functions
- Lead and manage Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) through various project phases, providing clear goals, direction, and feedback.
- Offer electrical engineering expertise and support on projects, including design reviews and strategic planning.
- Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and to quality standards.
- Develop and oversee project schedules and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) as needed.
- Identify risks in electrical design and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with other managers to ensure timely product development and problem resolution.
- Possess a solid grasp of software integration within projects, facilitating effective hardware/software collaboration.
- Select and utilize various test equipment to ensure project success.
- Direct leadership of the electrical engineering team, including performance evaluations, professional development, and staffing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with HR, security, safety, and operational training requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a high-paced environment.
- Familiarity with ASME standards related to electrical design and drawings.
- Moderate knowledge of C/C++ programming languages.
- Advanced understanding of hardware and software integration.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with financial management practices, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of MS Project and Earned Value Management software.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).
- Six years of applicable electrical engineering experience.
- Three years of experience in direct management.
- Preferred experience with SolidWorks EPDM and AutoCAD Electrical.
