Design Engineer
Job Description
Position Summary
This role supports electrical design efforts by contributing to the layout of complex printed wiring boards (PWBs) and generating release documentation in accordance with IPC standards. The position requires strong experience in high-complexity board layouts, including controlled impedance and differential pair routing, using Altium Designer.

This role supports electrical design efforts by contributing to the layout of complex printed wiring boards (PWBs) and generating release documentation in accordance with IPC standards. The position requires strong experience in high-complexity board layouts, including controlled impedance and differential pair routing, using Altium Designer.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze schematic diagrams and translate them into accurate PWB layouts
- Design and layout PWBs for circuit card assemblies (CCAs) using Altium Designer
- Develop and release manufacturing documentation for PWBs and associated CCAs
- Participate in and contribute to technical design reviews, providing constructive feedback
- Follow established engineering processes and procedures

- Apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges
- Provide solutions to a wide range of difficult engineering problems
- Operate with minimal supervision, working under general direction
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Equivalent experience: Associate’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience
- 6+ years of experience using Altium Designer for CCA design, with a focus on PWB layout
- Strong expertise in CCA hardware design and PWB development
- Proficiency in digital communication hardware and protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, WiFi, RFID, TCP/IP, RS-485, MIL-STD-1553, and similar
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and task prioritization skills
- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance
