Business Development Specialist
Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilize your military background and understanding of DoD operations to identify and analyze new business opportunities in the defense sector.
- Develop and implement targeted strategies for business expansion in the DoD training domain.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, decision-makers, and potential clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling proposals that meet the training needs of the DoD and related agencies.
- Manage and grow a pipeline of new business opportunities to achieve company growth objectives.
- Stay abreast of market trends and industry developments to inform business strategies.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to foster partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (advanced degrees are a plus).
- Experience with CRM software, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Proven success in business development within the defense sector, particularly in training, education, and human factors solutions.
- Deep understanding of DoD procurement processes and regulations.
- Established network in the DoD modeling, simulation, training, and education community.
- Track record of forming lasting partnerships in the defense sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Extensive military background with leadership experience.
- Prior engagement with DoD agencies or military branches in business development.
- Knowledge of training methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
- Travel required (up to 75%): Includes visits to government, military, and collaborator sites, and participation in conferences and trade shows.
- Office work involves extended periods of computer, telephone, and video communication use.
- Ability to acquire a Secret DoD security clearance.
