Avionics Technician IV
Location: Hagerstown, MD
Pay Rate: $48.00/hour
Job Summary
As an Avionics Technician IV, you will use your advanced skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company policies and regulations. You will be responsible for moderately complex installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components, as well as maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform avionics maintenance in compliance with FCC, FAA, and internal company standards.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair moderately complex avionics components.
  • Perform routing, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping per technical specifications.
  • Maintain test equipment, tools, manuals, and other support assets.
  • Interpret and apply technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and publications.

Required Skills & Experience
Must-Haves:
  • Must have own tools in good working order.
  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
  • Ability to route wires per technical drawings.
  • Advanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with FCC and/or FCC GROL.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior technicians.
  • Basic understanding of spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and/or pitot-static test equipment.
  • Background in the Aerospace & Defense industry, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.

Education
Must-Haves:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
