Avionics Technician III
Location: Hagerstown, MD
Pay Rate: $42.00 per hour
Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician III to join our team in Hagerstown, MD. In this role, you will use your expertise to perform avionics maintenance in compliance with FCC, FAA, and company policies and regulations. You will be responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics components, as well as maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform avionics maintenance in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company standards.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics components and systems.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tools, and manuals.
  • Interpret and work from technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Support the inspection and operation of aircraft, components, and related systems as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Haves:
  • Must own tools in good working order.
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Skilled in avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, soldering, and crimping techniques.
  • Ability to route wires per technical drawings.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL.
  • Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot-static equipment.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (may be required).

Education & Experience
  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Higher-level education may substitute for experience.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
