Job Description
Join a forward-thinking team dedicated to innovating defense technology by contributing to the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapons Systems (GWS) Ground Support Systems (GSS) product team. As a Software Engineer specializing in Automated Test Development, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our automated testing capabilities, developing scripts that not only test but also transform how we secure and support our systems.
Essential Functions:
- Spearhead advanced phases of software development including requirements definition, integration, and deployment.
- Craft and implement scripts for robust automated testing frameworks.
- Analyze test logs, conduct post-test reviews, and contribute to essential documentation.
- Address and resolve discrepancies in test results, applying critical problem-solving skills.
- Independently manage task priorities to meet project objectives with minimal supervision.
- Utilize "systems thinking" to develop solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and closely aligned with user requirements.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with no prior experience required.
- Maximum of 5 years of related professional experience.
- Proficient in Python and experienced in developing software with object-oriented programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability to work in-person in a secure area.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to support project needs.
- Must possess a current active U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance to begin employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree specifically in Software Engineering.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Proven ability to analyze complex issues and devise solutions with limited guidance.
- Experience in a Linux-based development environment.
- Familiar with a variety of scripting languages and tools such as MATLAB.
- Experience with Software Test Automation and Automated Test Tools like Eggplant.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
- Security + Certification is advantageous.
