About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Design & Test Engineer with expertise spanning hardware, software, and automated test development. This position plays a critical role in creating technical solutions used to functionally and diagnostically test complex electronic assemblies and communication systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in electronics, automated test development, system-level integration, and troubleshooting. This role involves working across multiple engineering disciplines, interpreting requirements, building test interfaces, and contributing to both manual and automated test execution.

Primary Responsibilities 1. Requirements Analysis

  • Evaluate technical documentation, diagrams, and unit-under-test (UUT) behavior to determine test needs and functional expectations.

  • Translate customer requirements into actionable test specifications.
2. Test Hardware & Interface Design

  • Design wiring harnesses, adapters, and physical interface connections to integrate UUT I/O with automated test system I/O.

  • Produce electrical schematics, wire lists, and bills of material.

  • Identify required components and support procurement activities.
3. Automated Test Development

  • Develop automated test suites that apply stimulus, collect measurements, and validate UUT performance.

  • Debug and troubleshoot test failures and support issue resolution reported by end users.
4. Manual & Automated Test Execution

  • Execute verification testing to assess system functionality, performance, and reliability.

  • Analyze results, perform root cause investigations, and document corrective actions.
5. Engineering Tools & Workflow

  • Utilize version control platforms for managing source code and technical documents.

  • Use project management, issue tracking, and workflow automation tools to support development activities.
6. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

  • Provide guidance and technical support to less experienced engineers, particularly in:

  • Communication systems

  • RF measurement methods

  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics
7. Customer Interaction

  • May participate in technical discussions or reviews with customers as needed.

Qualifications — Required

  1. Strong ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and assembly drawings.

  2. Extensive experience developing automated test programs.

  3. Solid understanding of basic electronic components and operation based on datasheets.

  4. Demonstrated analytical skills, including root cause analysis and test issue resolution.

  5. Working knowledge of RF parametric measurement principles.

  6. Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C#, C++, Python).

  7. Hands-on experience using test and measurement equipment such as:

  8. Spectrum analyzers

  9. RF generators/receivers

  10. Oscilloscopes

  11. Multimeters

  12. Power supplies

  13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  14. Ability to work onsite (position is not remote).

  15. Must be a U.S. person (required for access to controlled technical information).

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant engineering experience or equivalent professional background.
