Applications Engineer II
Job Description
Join our dynamic Communications Test Systems team, at the forefront of developing innovative software and hardware solutions for testing various communication electronic assemblies. These assemblies are pivotal for ensuring the optimal functioning of equipment critical for the safety and efficacy of our service personnel. Dive into a role where you'll navigate customer requirements, craft test scenarios for tactical communication equipment, and birth new test applications. Your expertise will play a direct role in ensuring the end-user can determine if equipment meets service standards or requires repair.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze technical OEM documentation, schematics, and UUT behavior to decipher the functionality and determine test needs. Utilize engineering expertise in the absence of documentation.

Design physical interface connections, crafting documented electrical schematics, wire lists, and bills of material to link UUT input/output to the test station I/O.

Implement test needs by adjusting Test System tools and UUT settings, applying input signals and verifying expected outputs.

Develop software to meet test requirements, employing object-oriented APIs for UUT stimulus application and output measurement.

Troubleshoot, identifying failure points during development and as reported by end-users.

Engage in Life Cycle DevOps and use revision control software for all source/document data.

Conduct software validation and verification tests.

Be available for potential travel and direct customer interactions.

Work both independently to meet project targets and collaboratively to uphold best practices.
Qualifications:
-
Comprehensive grasp of software-defined architectures, especially object-oriented design.

Proficiency in software development with C#.

Fluent in Object Oriented Design practices.

Demonstrated analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis.

Familiarity with communication and/or bench test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.

Basic understanding of RF systems and measurements.

Strong communication and interpersonal prowess.
-
Prior experience in tactical/airborne radio logistics is advantageous.

This position is not remote.

Must be a US person.
Education/Experience:
-
Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering (BSEE or BSCE) with a Computer Science focus.

At least 3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent background.
Computer Skills:
-
Adeptness in software development languages, namely C, C++, and C#.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
