Job Description
Are you a seasoned acquisition professional with a deep understanding of federal contracting? We are looking for an Acquisition Specialist IV to play a key role in supporting a government client’s procurement team in Huntsville, AL, and Clarksburg, WV. This position involves handling complex pre- and post-award contracting activities, including acquisition strategy development, procurement planning, solicitation, negotiation, contract administration, and closeout. With over 12 years of experience, you will also lead and mentor a team, ensuring mission-critical supplies and services are acquired efficiently and in compliance with federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on acquisition-related roles, guiding the development and implementation of strategies to meet mission requirements.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify potential sources for procurement, utilizing both government and non-government data.
- Advise on competitive acquisition options based on business strategies, market conditions, and regulatory requirements (FAR).
- Assist in drafting and validating procurement requests and associated documents.
- Determine the best acquisition methods for recurring and one-time requirements.
- Develop and manage project plans to ensure timely and successful completion of procurement activities.
- Lead the solicitation process by preparing documents and utilizing systems such as GSA E-Buy, GWACs, FPDS-NG, SAM.gov, and NASA SEWP.
- Manage the receipt and evaluation of proposals, ensuring compliance and safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Promote small business participation in solicitations and provide guidance on socio-economic programs.
- Prepare and maintain contract files, ensuring compliance with federal procurement policies.
- Oversee contract closeouts and ensure proper archiving of all records.
- Mentor junior acquisition staff, fostering professional growth and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Active TS Clearance.
- 12+ years of federal contracting experience, encompassing pre- and post-award activities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in acquisition and contracting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- FAC-C Level III or DAWIA Level III certification (preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR).
- Experience in supporting small business and socio-economic contracting programs.
