Quality Inspector
Job Description

We are in search of an experienced Quality Inspector who is passionate about ensuring the precision, accuracy, and excellence of hardware components. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct inspections of components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Oversee operations to guarantee compliance with production standards.
- Propose modifications to the assembly or production process.
- Examine and test materials and products during production.
- Utilize measurement tools such as rulers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.
- Approve or decline finished items based on quality standards.
- Remove any products or materials that don't meet specified criteria.
- Communicate inspection outcomes with relevant personnel.
- Record inspection and test data for further review.
- Review materials from suppliers prior to production integration.
- Stay updated on government and industry quality regulations and standards and communicate these to the team.
- Compile and present metrics and reports to the quality manager.
- Document insights and maintain a "lessons learned" database.
- Execute First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience in hardware acceptance and qualification testing.
- Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, scales, micrometers, Faro Scan Arm, and height gauges.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Familiarity with Aerospace and Defense standard Quality specifications.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, test procedures, and MIL standards.
- Certifications in IPC620, IPC-610, and J-STD-001 are preferred.
- Moderate computer literacy required.
- Familiarity with Costpoint software is an advantage.
- Training or familiarity with AS9100D QMS requirements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Education/Experience:
- Technical and/or High School Degree. Additional qualifications are beneficial.
- Prior relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in basic mathematical operations and able to interpret data visualizations such as bar graphs.
